The Queue
We call
turnaround time the queue, after a British expression for a line. Right
now, our clients can expect a wait of about Six weeks before we can
actually start on the garments you order. So add production time (which
varies with the size and complexity of the order) and a week or so for
shipping and that will give you a fair idea of the time frame you can
expect. In cases where you need your
outfits for a special occasion, please, please let us know and we’ll do
our best to negotiate with the folks already in line to let you “Jump
the queue”. In cases where you’re comfortable with a longer wait,
please let us know that too. Our
garments are handmade in a sunny loft in an old Victorian house in New
Brunswick, Canada. Millicent is really picky about the clothing she
sews. She hates to rush. And that shows in the details and finishes-
little things that we like to do right. As
to the question that some people ask- why don’t you get help?-
Millicent kind of harrumphs. She has been willing to “compromise” by
getting someone to do some of the cutting (a really nice lady with a
good pair of hands). But by and large it’s one lady and three machines
(two amazing, one pretty good).
And at
the risk of sounding somewhat immodest (oh well), our stuff seems to be
worth the wait.
By the
way, We ship Nuk binkies and nipples immediately by air. Collars and
cuffs usually go out very quickly. But here again they’re handcrafted
and occasionally there’s a short queue there too.
If you
have any questions or concerns about the queue or you wish to make a
compelling case to jump it, please e-mail
