A Diaper. But not just any store bought light paper and plastic diaper. This is a very soft flannel made for an adult baby from a pattern Miss Sutherland obtained from a client who wanted her to make some for him. The client had spent time on a quest for the ultimate cloth diaper.  It recalls a time when the garment closest to baby was soft and comfortable yet substantial.

All the seams are professionally finished with a surged stitch, There are 4 full layers and 10 center lining layers plus an extra 4 layer front gusset for absorbency where it counts. All the layers will stay in place because they’ve been well sewn almost quilted, in with 5 rows of stitching. We may have mentioned already that Miss Sutherland is kind of fussy (she actually dislikes that word). She also has the benefit of having equipment that is state of the art (or craft if you prefer).

The matching contoured soaker that’s also included is comfy and ultra thick with 4 layers of soft flannette
Measuring 21 inches long. It can be used to line this diaper, with training pants or where ever you need some extra protection.
And like the diaper, the soaker will become softer with every wash
